Research Area A: Homeostatic Adaptation

Exploring the tissue-based immune system as a central determinant for tissue homeostasis and adaptation to environmental variations

Research Area A’s primary objective is to comprehend how the immune system maintains tissue homeostasis and how sickness upsets this balance. It examines the mechanisms behind resilience—the ability to retain health in the face of risk factors. By characterizing different immunological states at the molecular level, the goal is to find biomarkers and regulatory pathways that could be targeted to preserve or restore long-term health.
